Sarah Claudine Welch's Obituary
Sarah Claudine Welch (Spicer), age 82, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, in Lake Wales, Florida.
Born on March 4, 1943, in Geneva, Alabama, Sarah, who went by Dean was the beloved daughter of the late Sarah Thomas and Claud Spicer. She married the love of her life, Robert Wayne Welch Sr., in December of 1959. They shared over six decades of marriage before his passing in March 2023.
Dean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent her life as a loving stay-at-home wife, pouring her heart into her family and her home. She had a special gift for crocheting and found joy in creating handmade treasures for her loved ones. Her passions included watching NASCAR, never missing her favorite soap operas, and her deep love for birds.
She is survived by her children: Denise (Larry) Walker, Steven Welch, Sharon (Frank) Lott, and Michael (Jess) Welch. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Bobby Welch, in 2012.
Dean also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom were lucky to be loved by her.
Dean’s family will remember her for her quiet strength, her unwavering devotion to her family, and the way she found joy in life’s simple pleasures.
