Sara Helen Eady's Obituary
SARA HELEN EADY, 77
LAKELAND – Helen Eady passed away after a long illness on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the age of 77 years.
A lifelong resident of Lakeland, she raised a family and traveled the world with John Eady, her beloved husband of 62 years. She retired after 30 years with the US Postal Service, where she worked as a rural mail carrier and supervisor.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she attended the Vanguard Sunday School class and was involved with Women’s Circle 5. She also enjoyed many years of friendship and service through her membership in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. An expert gardener and avid golfer, she enjoyed volunteer work and crafts.
She was an active and loving mother of four, grandmother of twelve, and great-grandmother of two.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by sisters Kathryn Weed and Mary Joyce Godwin. She is survived by her devoted husband John, sisters Hazel “Tinkie” Douglas and Katina Young (Bob) and brother Jim Perdicaris (Carol); daughters Shawn Wilson and Wendy Royster; sons Mark Eady (Johnna) and Bruce Eady (Joni); grandchildren Jake Royster, Casey Prescott (Nate), Emily Diggs, Matt Eady, Jessi Eady, John Eady, Luke Eady, Alex Eady, Sammi Eady, Jordan Eady, Justin Eady, and Brianna Eady; great grandchildren Benjamin and Scarlett Prescott; brothers-in-law Dennis (Jeanette), Tom (Linda) and Mike (Marilyn) and many nieces and nephews.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 5th, 2018, at First United Methodist Church at 72 Lake Morton Drive in Lakeland. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm until the start of the service. The family offers sincere thanks to the wonderful people at Grace Manor and Vitas Healthcare who cared for Helen, and for us.
