Sally Closson Miller Kempf's Obituary
Sally Closson Miller Kempf, born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 4, 1928 to Closson and Mabel Miller. She was ushered into the presence of her Lord on March 9, 2020 at the age of 91. Sally is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Charles Lester Kempf of Lakeland, Florida; her five children, Dr. Charles A. (Ruby) Kempf, Dr. Craig L. (Jamie) Kempf, Betsy Kempf Levingston, Susan Kempf (Kerry) Tarr, Donna Kempf (Bob) Watkins; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Seaton of Winter Haven, Florida. Sally was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Miller, of Hesperia, Michigan. The family is comforted in the knowledge the she is now in the presence of her Heavenly Father, and her Savior, whom she so faithfully served.
Her passion for education led her to pursue degrees in Home Economics, Business Education and a master’s degrees in Guidance and Personnel. She served as Guidance Counselor for Fremont Public Schools for 14 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the following: First Presbyterian Church, Hesperia, Michigan; Lakeside Baptist, Muskegon, Michigan; Ganson Street Baptist, Jackson, Michigan; Calvary Baptist, Sterling, Illinois; Prospect Heights Baptist; First Baptist, Fremont, Michigan; Faith Baptist, Fremont, Michigan; Calvary Baptist, Lakeland, Florida; Cornerstone Baptist, Lakeland, Florida; Holly Springs Baptist, Franklin, North Carolina; Grace Baptist, Franklin, North Carolina; Mount Tabor Baptist, Westminster, South Carolina. Sally received Christ as her Lord and Savior at a youth camp in Michigan as a High school student and served Him faithfully for over 75 years in 14 Churches and in 5 states. She became part of the body of Christ and the bride of Christ and is now enjoying those relationships face to face.
