Ruby May Filimonuk's Obituary
Ruby May Benzel Rice Filimonuk, age 97, born February 19,1927 in Hartville, Ohio, passed away on July 30, 2024 in Lakeland, FL. She moved to Lakeland from Ohio in 2001 with her husband Nick.
Ruby was full of life and always smiling. She loved wrestling, RAYS baseball, old country music, playing Bingo, Solitaire on her iPad, coloring, food and a good joke.
She worked for Lawson Milk Co. in the bakery for 24 years. Was a member of the Red Hatters Society and had a passion for crocheting. She crocheted baby doll clothes for her daughters' doll ministry and sewed childrens clothes for mission trips for the missions team at her church. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband Nick Filimonuk, her parents George and Sarah Benzel, her brothers Charles, James and George Benzel, Son Richard Rice and S-I-L Clyde Frye.
Survived by her daughter Beverly A. Frye, Grandsons Jim Fry(Brenda) and Ricky Rice, Great Granddaughters Bethany A. Frye and Kaley Fleming, Great grandsons Lance Corporal Rodney T. Frye and Ricky Rice. Several Stepsons, Stepdaughters and Step Grandchildren and one niece Cindy Ionno.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday August 17, 2024 @ 12pm @New Life Lakeland Church, 8595 US Hwy. 98 N, Lakeland, FL.
