Rosemarie Riedl's Obituary
LAKELAND - Rosemarie Riedl, 83, beloved wife and grandma, passed away peacefully in her home on June 4, 2018.
Rosemarie was affectionately known as "Oma" by her six grandchildren, who will forever cherish memories of magical, snowy Christmases spent at the Riedls' cozy Pennsylvania home.
Born in Bavaria, Germany, Rosemarie and husband Ludwig came to the United States as young adults and settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania followed by a move to Lakeland, Florida in 2000. Here, she welcomed her first and only great-grandchild who adored his great-grandma and loved to dance around the kitchen while Oma played her harmonica.
Rosemarie believed in bouncing back from life's curveballs. Her resilience remains an inspiration to those who knew her. She intuitively knew that a smile and word of encouragement could brighten someone's day. A beautiful singer and active in her community, she will be dearly missed by friends and family.
Rosemarie is survived by her husband, Ludwig Riedl; children, Heidi Welner and Michael Riedl; six grandchildren, Erica, Emily, Zachary, Megan, Samantha, and Nicholas; and one great-grandchild, Grant. Her funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakeland, FL on Mon. June 11, 2018 at 10:30 am.
