Ronald “Chip” Sherrouse, 66, a lifelong resident of Lakeland, passed away at home, peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Feb. 15 after a long battle with cancer.
Chip had attended Kathleen High School, where he was an active member of FFA. Following high school, he began working for Yogurt Masters for many years, then he moved to Lykes Bros. where he worked as a foreman for 18 years, and then for Publix where he ran the blow mold machine that made milk cartons. He retired from there in 2009 after 23 years. He was a 25 years member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he volunteered to oversee the grounds at Socrum Cemetery, and was a member of the Lakeland Lions Club.
Chip is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara; three daughters, Teresa Renaud and husband Adam, Christy Jayne and husband Steven, and Heather Norris and husband Ronnie; a sister Darlene McNey; two brothers, Jimmy and wife Joan, and Larry; and six grandchildren; Caleb Brown, Brandon (Tyler) Brown, Alyssa Renaud, Courtney Jayne, Gabby Jayne and Logan Norris. He was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Waid.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation to be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, at Bethel Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Services will begin at 12:00. Burial is to follow at Socrum Cemetery.
