Ronald L. Kidd's Obituary
Ronald Lee Kidd, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Ron was born on Feb. 22, 1946 in Oneida, Tn. At some point they moved to Somerset Kentucky before moving to Lakeland, Fl. and attending Kathleen High School.
After High School, he joined the Army and upon completion of his service, he continued to reside in Lakeland.
Ron met and married Shirley about 1985. They were together until her passing in 2018.
Ron was a man of specifics who worked as a carpenter and a custom builder. He also worked for a number of years at the City of Lakeland where he eventually retired. Always busy and always active Ron loved life. He enjoyed playing acoustic guitar, writing poetry, and landscaping. He loved motor-cross (having competed and won trophies when he was younger) and even more so watching and training his son Brian to do the same. If you knew Ron you would know that salt and sunglasses were a high priority. And everyone knew of his passion for guns, ownership and competition. And finally, let the records show that Ron was a secret admirer of Indian Motorcycles. Sure he was!
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Castee Kidd and his mother, Agnes Heath. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey Kidd Reckhart and by grandson Wolfgang Reckhart and nephew, Rocky Michel.
Ron is survived by his sister, Donna Kidd, sons Brian Kidd, David Castee Kidd and Gregory L. Gschwender Styron and daughters, Dawn Teague and Michelle L. Gschwender Styron. Also, by grandchildren Liam Teague, Kristi Waller, and Lucas Styron.
Ron had many friends, some deceased, and the rest of us now present, who will greatly miss him until we shall meet again....over Jordan.
Memorial service will be held at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland, Fl. 33810 at 11:00 A.M . A slide show will be shown before the service begins. All are welcomed to attend.
