Ronald Richard Damewood's Obituary
Ronald R. Damewood Sr. 79 years old from Lakeland, Florida passed away on March 14, 2018 at Lakeland Regional Hospital. Ron was born on July 17th 1938 in Monmouth, Illinois to parents Ralph and Anne Damewood. Ron graduated from Davenport Central High School.
Ron married Pamela Wolfe on December 16, 1977 in Preemption, Illinois. Ron and Pam lived in Coal Valley, Illinois from 1977 – 1990 then moved to Bettendorf, Iowa from 1990 – 2006. From 2006 to present they have enjoyed retirement life in Lakeland, Florida.
Ron Damewood started working at Tri City Heat Treat in 1961 that his father Ralph Damewood founded. He began working on the floor to learn the business from the ground up. Between 1961 to 1980 Ron honed his skills to become an excellent heat treater. From 1980 - 2006 Ron was President of Tri City Heat Treat where the company served the agricultural, heavy construction, automotive, and gun markets. Ron enjoyed solving heat treat-related problems and building customer relationships that gave the company opportunity for growth. Ron was also a member of the American Society of Metals and the Metal Treating Institute for many years. Ron’s model was not to be the biggest, but to be the best in the Heat Treat Industry.
Throughout his life Ron loved racquet ball, bowling, camping, horseback riding, water skiing, snow skiing, trout fishing, bow hunting, and golfing with his buddies. His favorite time of year was pheasant and deer hunting season with his sons and grandsons. He especially enjoyed his hunting trips with his sons to South Dakota.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Pam. His 8 children Ronald Jr. (Faith), Christopher (Linda), Mark (Connie), Randall (Laura), Matt (Christine), Chad (Susan), Stacy (Kale), Candice (Leon). His 17 grandchildren Ronald III, Jennifer, Nick, Stephanie, Ryan, Andrew, Lauren, Brandon, Justin, Shawnae, Sydney, Haddon, Paige, Ethan, Kaden, Ella, and Wyatt. He has 13 great grandchildren. His brother Gary (Sharon). Along with many nieces, nephews, sister & brother in-laws.
