RONALD K. BRINSON, 81
LAKELAND - Ronald K. Brinson, 81, of Lakeland passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at home.
Born in Mulberry, FL on October 29, 1934, at 5 years old he moved to Nashville, GA where he was raised. He graduated from Nashville High School in 1952, and joined the U.S. Army in 1953, and served 3 years and was honorably discharged in 1956. When he moved to Lakeland, FL in 1957, he went to work for Pensulia Telephone Co. which became GTE, where he worked as a central office technician for 41 years. He loved baseball and coached Little League teams, and enjoyed wood working where he made wooden toys for mission trips. Ronald was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and a deacon. Ronald was preceded in death by parents, Lyman W. and Della Brinson; son, William B. Brinson; and daughter, Kimberly A. (Brinson) Colasanti. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Ballard) Brinson; son, Mark L. Brinson; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Weber.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice of Lakeland, FL. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 9th, at Parkview Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Good Shepherd staff for their love and care during Ronald's final days.
