Roland Augustin Trevino's Obituary
At age 67 Roland died peacefully in a restful state in the hospital, Lakeland Regional Health in Lakeland, Florida on November 26, 2023 after a lengthy and courageous battle with diabetes.
Roland was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 25, 1956 to Augustin and Lupe Trevino. Roland graduated from UTSA, University of Texas San Antonio, with a bachelor in Computer Science and System Design. He worked for IBM, Bank of America, Texas Instruments, AMTrust, Huntington Ingalls Industries, Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield and other corporations as a Computer Enterprise Architect and a Technical Writer along with his early days of coding. Prior to college, Roland served in the United States Air Force for four years during which time he worked on F14 fighter jets. It was at this time when Roland first gave his life and heart to Jesus Christ under the military tutelage of an Assembly of God chaplain in the Air Force. Thereafter, Roland stayed dedicated to God his entire life. Roland was happily married to Lynn Trevino who was his partner in life for almost 14 years at the time of his passing on to be with his God.
Roland is survived by his wife, three children of his own: Joel, Paul and Philip, six children through marriage: Austin, Aaron, Breeana, Shalise, Larell and Warren, seven grandchildren, his parents, two sisters: Olaya and Cindy, along with one brother: Richard Trevino.
Roland loved to fish, ride his Harley Davidson Dyna Glide, attend church, teach Bible studies, study new code/systems along with playing password and other group games with his family on “monthly family Sundays”. He especially loved talking about mutual technology with his son Aaron and the years they spent doing apologetics together. Roland took immense pride in Joel and Paul who pursued the military and served many years and still serve. Roland had a fascination with small business and Real Estate as a hobby. He constantly asked about each of his children and was always interested in all that they were accomplishing in life; in Christ, in their families, in the armed forces and in business. Roland was a wonderful father and an honorable human being in every manner. He had the personality of a peacemaker, yet he would stand up for what he felt was right. He was an informed studier when it came to culture and politics. He supported conservative values passionately which he viewed as Biblical values close to the heart of God. Roland left a legacy inspired by the Holy Spirit and his family will be forever grateful to him. We will miss Roland beyond words till we meet again in heaven, a very real place, for those that put Jesus first in their lives and keep Him there.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Saturday, December 2nd, with viewing from 10am until 11am, followed by Roland’s celebration of life service from 11am until 12pm, which will be held at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel in Lakeland, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Redemption Church, Beaumont, Texas https://www.redemptiontx.com/give/ , which was Roland’s favorite church for the last two years that he loved and felt so much encouragement from. He loved the pastor and his cultural boldness for God in these end times.
