Rogelio Marcial's Obituary
Rogelio Marcial, 92 years young, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 31, 2017. He was a retired sailboat builder who liked fishing. He loved trying to stay fit by exercising every day whether it was going on the treadmill or riding his bicycle for miles and miles or hours at a time. He tried watching what he ate. His greatest weakness was the sweets, the cakes, the chocolates, the cookies and candies. He loved sitting on the glider in the backyard taking in God’s creations until he would fall asleep. Rogelio would take the mornings to read and study the Bible, one of his favorite things to do. He also loved playing pool and challenging any players that would dare play with him. He would play for hours at a time, especially with his son Edwin. He loved his family especially his wife Irma. They were inseparable. His favorite saying was, “Hey, stop playing around!” or “That’s garbage!” or when angry he would say, “SHA..NANA!” Rogelio loved his two little Chihuahuas, Blade and Gracie. You would often see him carrying them under his arm or sleeping with them in the living room or on the glider in the backyard. Rogelio is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irma Marcial; his son Edwin Marcial; his granddaughters Maria Tilley and Theresa Pena. Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 5-8 PM. Friday, August 3, 2018 from 1-3 PM at Serenity Gardens Chapel. Interment will be on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10AM at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Lakeland, Fl.
