Bobby was my hero.
Laughter and kindness oozed from Bobby and this Bahama Mama got through some homesickness and rough moments at CCC because of him. This teddy bear of God shared his Saviour ‘s love by taking the time to look past my smile to check on me. Praying for his family and those who had the pleasure of spending time with him recently.
Coach Carver taught the soccer players to be Godly gentlemen and Bobby learned well.

When Bobby and Karen and I were teenagers we were all Camp Gilead counselors never dreaming that after we parted ways after Karen and I graduated high school that I would find out that she and Bobby would marry and lived so close to me in NC. My 3 sons and I went to visit them where they showed us a piece of property that later became Camp Grace and Bobby was so excited to show us what God was doing. I saw a piece of land but he saw a camp! I will never forget that he went and filled up my big truck with gas knowing that I didn't have much money to get home. That is who Bobby was! A person always listening to what the Holy Spirit told him to do! I just hope we all will follow his example. Karen we are praying for you and all of your family as you pass through this hard time. Sending much love!
I was truly blessed to have known Bobby while I was a student at CCC. I, along with Cecile, served as the Soccer teams Managers one year. Bobby was always there to make us laugh, and give us encouragement. Thoughts and prayers are going out to the entire family during this time.

We are so sorry Karen and family to learn of Bobby's passing. We kept in touch with the latest news and events of you and Bobby from your mom and dad in our Sundaiy School class at Antioch Baptist Church. Please know that we are there with you in our thoughts and prayers. We know it is a big comfort for you and the family also to have your mom and dad with you. We will always remember being with you and Bobby at Camp Grace, and also seeing you at our church from time to time. Love and prayers, Jim and Dottie Meacher, Antioch Baptist Church.
Bobby was a brother... a friend! We met at CCC, played soccer together, and loved to compete! Bobby served at Camp Gilead several years as a counselor, later becoming my program director. I had the privilege of seeing Bobby develop into a man of God who was passionate about his faith and fully invested in serving his Lord and others! Like everyone that ever knew Bobby, we will remember his genuine and contagious smile. When Bobby and Karen returned to Camp Gilead, we were able to rekindle our friendship and I was so very thankful for the week I spent at CG with Bobby and Karen in July of 2017; and now realizing just how precious those memories are to me. Karen said to me in the hospital several weeks ago, there was a time for him to fight, and there would be a time for him to rest! Rest well my friend in the arms of our Savior... Your legacy as a servant of the Lord; a loving and faithful husband, father; and grandfather; and a man of character and integrity will be remembered and seared in our hearts and minds. Those of us who knew you are better because you touched our lives! Until we meet again in the presence of our Savior! ❤️
Bobby was certainly one of a kind! His love for his Savior, his family and the ministry he was called to do was very evident by his daily lifestyle. He cared, loved, inspired, encouraged, corrected, laughed, and brought the good out in those he taught and worked along side. You will be greatly missed, Bobby. Rest well in the arms of your Lord and Savior, my friend. We will meet again! Cathy
