Robert "Bob" Earl Chandler, 78
LAKELAND - Robert (Bob) Earl Chandler of Lakeland FL, age 78, died May 9, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center after a long battle with health issues.
Mr. Chandler is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Alicia Rehbein, son-in-law Gary Rehbein and his two grandchildren Chandler and Dara Rehbein. He leaves behind his brother John Chandler and two sisters Mary Rodgers and Nancy Brown. He also leaves behind nephews Wayne Gray, Jon Gray, Jeremy Brown, Josh Chandler, Butch Gambrell and nieces Jana Long, Ashley Gambrell, Michele Gee, Leslie Hackett, Robyn Chandler, Tami Shapiro and Angela Cook.
Bob is a veteran that served in the Air Force and Air National Guard for 21 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was instrumental in implementing the munitions safety program used by the US Air Force. He was most remembered in Lakeland for teaching Chemistry and Physics at Lake Gibson Sr High where he retired.
His life loves were teaching, fishing and family. Three words that describe him best are Patriotic, Brilliant and Believer as friends and family will attest.
Viewing is Thursday 6-8 pm and services will be held this Friday 10:30 am at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. He will be interred at Mt. Enon Cemetery.
