Richard John Wiley's Obituary
Richard John Wiley, 78, of Lakeland, passed away on January 30, 2021, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida. He was born June 15, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. As a young man, his family moved to South Florida settling in Miami. He graduated from Coral Gables High School and later the University of Miami School of Law, where he obtained a Juris Doctor Degree. He was a member of the Florida Bar for 50 years. Richard practiced law in Lakeland for many years.
During his years as an attorney, Richard developed a key eye for real estate and made it his “retirement plan” which he achieved with much success.
He loved to tell stories about his youth and instances of his real estate deals and his step grandsons, whom he would say had been his greatest gift in life.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Brugger-Wiley, his step- daughter Zoe Kader and step grandsons Blair and Benjamin.
Visitation with family and friends will start at 9:30 AM on Thursday, February 4th, followed by Service at 10:00 AM at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home on Bartow Road, Lakeland, Florida.
