Regis R. Stana's Obituary
Regis Stana of Lakeland passed away on March 30th, 2024. He was born on September 7th, 1941 in Greensburg, Pa., the second child of Stephen and Helen Stana. He was a graduate of St Vincent Prep (1959) and earned a BS (1963), MS (1965), and PhD (1967) in chemical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed by Westinghouse Research, Wyoming Mineral Corporation and IMC-Agrico where he retired as director of technology development in 1997. After retirement, Regis consulted for a number of companies and legal firms as well as the EPA and DOJ.
He was predeceased by his mother Helen Stana, Father Stephen Stana, and brother John Stana. He is survived by his wife Angela, sisters Jean Lotz, Irene Farmer, brother James Stana, children Cindi Johnson, Ron Stana, Rita Finocchiaro, Diane Meeks, 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Rege will probably be best remembered for his entertaining presentations on a wide variety of subjects, the “bicycle man” in the Deerbrook area and the secret rooms created in his Deerbrook home. In leu of flowers, plant a tree in Rege’s memory to fight climate change.
Funeral services will be at St. John Neumann Catholic Church on April 9th at 10:30am.
