DR. PHILEMON G. ROBERTS, 84
LAKELAND - Dr. Philemon G. Roberts, age 84, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 in Lakeland.
Phil was born in Fort Pierce, Florida, February 21, 1932. He was the son of J.T. 'Jake' and Katherine Roberts. The Rev. Dr. Roberts pastored for many years, was involved in state and national leadersip with the Church of God, evangelized, taught, and authored numerous books. He was well known among Pentecostal ministers for his oratory skills and intelligence. He served in the US Air Force.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' Roberts, his son, Terry Roberts, daughter, Tiffany Roberts, brother, J.T. Roberts III, and sister, Eloise Peeples.
A viewing with be held at 6PM, Thursday, February 25, at Abundant Life Church of God at 6725 N Socrum Loop Rd, Lakeland. The funeral will follow at 7PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Dr. Philemon Roberts Scholarship Fund at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Cleveland, TN.
