Penelope Mary Powers Stowell
Lakeland - Penelope Mary Powers Stowell, 76, passed away July 3, 2018.
Born August 17, 1941, in Warsaw, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Powers and Leone Harris.
Mrs. Stowell graduated from the University of Rochester School of Nursing, in 1962 and later from Florida Southern College BSN, in 1992. She was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi, Sunshine Piecemakers Quilt Club, and the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. John Neumann, where she was a member for many years. She had a love of quilting, knitting and gardening.
Survivors include her son, Scott Edward (Jay Lovell) Stowell; and her daughter, Holly Jean (Daryl) Geddie; two grandchildren, Gavin and Delaney Geddie, other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at St. John Neumann Catholic Church on Mon. July 9th at 11 am. Interment will take place in St Michael’s Cemetery, in Warsaw NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
