Peggy J. Stone's Obituary
Mrs. Peggy Joyce Stone went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 6, 2017. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Brownsville, Tennessee to Alsey “Peabody” and Mildred Lovelace. She was a long time resident of Polk County, Florida.
She loved all animals, especially her precious “Pee Pee”, who still wanders through the home searching for her. He could not sleep unless part of him was touching part of her.
Mrs. Stone never met a stranger, loved to talk and was always willing to go over and beyond the call of duty to help a friend in need. She enjoyed going to casino and playing her favorite game, “The Golden 7’s” and was actually quite good at what her family called her “part time job”. She was the glue that held her family together and she will be so missed by all who knew and loved her.
She instilled so many qualities into her children, especially the ability and fulfillment of bringing a smile to another person’s face. That in itself brought her much happiness.
Peggy was a blunt person who believed in speaking her mind, regardless of what that might have been. She was real. She lived her life the way she chose and once you met her, you knew that you would never meet another one like her. She lived her life to the fullest.
Her family gives Praise to God above for allowing them the time they had with his amazing beautiful lady. She was more than a wife, a mother, or grandparent. She was our "inspiration".
Mrs. Peggy Joyce Stone will be forever missed by her loving family, husband of 46 years Benny Stone, Daughters: Ronice Brooks and Lynn Goodwin (Larry); sons: James Dean Shaw (Alicia), Robert Powers, and Gary Stone, her sister Annette Bright (Lawrence), along with God blessing her with 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one on the way, as well as 2 great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and three grandsons: William H. Jackson, Christopher Michael Fischer, and Ronald L. Jackson, Jr.
A visitation will be held at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home 3350 Mall Hill Drive Lakeland FL from 3-4pm followed by a service at 4pm on Wednesday July 12, 2017. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens.
