Pearl A. Connor, 88
Retired Educator
Lakeland – Mrs. Pearl A. Connor attained eternal peace on January 5, 2018 in Lakeland, FL.
She was born in Holyoke, MA on November 21, 1929. Pearl earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts Degrees at American International College in Springfield, MA and then began her teaching career in that city.
Moving to Florida in 1957, she became a teacher of History and Chairperson of the Social Studies Dept. at South Miami Jr. High School where she remained until her retirement.
In 1988, she moved to Lakeland where she continued to pursue her interests in animal protection causes, politics and world travel. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Marie Connor and her husband Edward F. Connor. She is survived by her grand-nephew Dr. John T. Barringer and a niece Diane Scott.
Services provided by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 10:00 – 10:30am. Mass for Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Burial Park following the services.
