LAKELAND - Pauline Stanfield passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Pauline was born in Jacksonville in 1947 to Horace and Vadna Stanfield. She graduated from Lakeland High School, Florida Southern College and the University of South Florida. She worked for the Polk County School Board as a math teacher and dean of students for 40 years. She loved sports, keeping statistics for the Kathleen High School Red Devil football team and keeping score for the Red Devil basketball team and the Lake Region Thunder basketball team. She sponsored cheerleaders, Student Council and senior class at various times. In later years, she was an adjunct professor at Polk State College. As an accomplished organist and pianist, she played for several churches in the Lakeland area. She is survived by her parents, other relatives and close friends. A graveside service will be held Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Serenity Gardens.
