Rev. Paul Napier's Obituary
Rev. Paul Napier 91 of Lakeland, went home to be with the Lord on November 28, 2023 at the Good Shepherd Hospice after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born November 7, 1932 in Wayne, WV. He served in the Navy and afterward married the love of his life and they raised 4 children. After moving to Florida in October 1971, he became a General Contractor and later an Ordained Minister. He loved preaching God’s word and singing gospel music with his wife. He was a longtime member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church. After retiring to Lakeland in 1988, he and his wife opened the Plantation Café and retired again in 2000. He is preceded in death by his father, Brady Napier; mother, Dovie Damron Napier; sister, Myrtle Mayo; and infant son, Dale Allen Napier. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marinda Frances “Fran” Napier; Daughters, Debbie L. Purcell (Frank) of Lakeland; Teresa A. Small of Lakeland; Melissa F. Register (Johnny) of Lakeland; son, Paul A. Napier (Angie) of Leesburg; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home 3350 Mall Hill Rd, Lakeland, Fl 33801. Viewing will be at 1:00 PM with service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland.
