Patricia Elizabeth Markey's Obituary
Patricia Elizabeth Markey, 70, passed away Thursday August 15th at her home in Lakeland. Born on October 23rd, 1953 in Norwood, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Patricia (Sill) LeBlanc and the late Ernest George LeBlanc Sr. of Wrentham, Massachusetts.
She was the wife of the late Edward James Markey Sr.
Patricia and Edward started their family in Attleboro, Massachusetts where she worked as a CNA and he owned and operated Tri-state Remodeling. After 20 years, they moved to Milton, New Hampshire. They opened an ice cream shop there called Beak’s Ice Cream aka The Pink Place. Pat and Ed owned and operated the ice cream shop for 25 years. Most of the local customers would come to socialize with Pat at the take out window. Seeing the many customers turned friends brought a smile to Pat’s face everyday. Pat retired from the ice cream shop after Ed’s passing in 2015. She then moved to Lakeland, Florida to enjoy retirement.
Patricia is survived by her children, Edward James Markey Jr. and his wife Peg of Fort Stewart, Georgia; Brian Rodrigues and his wife Jen of Rumford, Rhode Island; Patrick LeBlanc of Thompson, Pennsylvania; Eric LeBlanc of Lakeland, Florida and Tricia Bobel and her husband Jason of Lakeland, Florida.
Patricia had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be extremely missed by her devoted granddaughter, Angel Lofgren. Angel cared for her grandmother in her final stages of life.
Patricia is survived by her sister, Virginia Garner of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest George LeBlanc Jr.
At this time there will be no services. The family would like to thank everyone for their continued support and love during this difficult time.
