Oscar Gutierrez, age 91, passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 8, 2022
Oscar was born on March 3, 1931 in Mexico City, Mexico to Samuel and Carmen Gutierrez. He moved to New York City in 1954, where he studied English and accounting. He started his airline career with Aeronaves de Mexico in sales and marketing. He worked with President Miguel Aleman at the Mexican Tourist Council for 6 years promoting travel to Mexico before rejoining AeroMexico as Manager of US and Canada in Miami, Florida. He met and married his wife of 46 years, Carole Lynne, and began a career with Mexicana Airlines in Miami, where he retired in 1991.
He loved nothing more than his beautiful family and is survived by his wife Carole Lynne, his sister-in-law Connie Sayer and her sons Douglas and Dustin, his sister Maria Adela Gutierrez Lemus, nephew Raul Lemus and his wife Silva and daughter Carolina, niece Maria del Carmen Ponce, her husband Fernando Ponce, their children Gustavo and his wife Evelyn, Jazmin and her husband Andres and their two boys Erik and Christopher, Mary Carmen and her husband Joaquin Aguirre, Sister-in-Law Christy Larson and her husband David, Brother-in-Law George Wills, his wife Sofia and daughter Jennifer, daughter-in-law Diane Gutierrez, granddaughter Darla Rose and her husband Stefan Salvatore Cruz and granddaughter Dori-Jo Gutierrez and Duncan Yates. Predeceased by his son Joseph in 2019.
