Odessa Patterson's Obituary
Odessa Patterson (née Paul), aged 96, passed away on August 12, 2024, in Bartow, Florida.
Born on June 17, 1928, in Bellaire, Ohio, she moved through life with grace and dedication,
touching the lives of those around her.
Odessa graduated from high school in her birth town of Bellaire, Ohio. She spent much of her
career as a dedicated Dental Office Manager for Dr. Billy B. Brown, where she was
well-regarded for her efficiency and warmth.
A devout member of the First Baptist Church, Odessa actively participated in community and
spiritual activities, enriching her faith and connections within her community. Her involvement
extended to organizations such as the Zonta Club and Eastern Star, highlighting her
commitment to service and fellowship.
Family was the cornerstone of Odessa’s life. She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Gene),
Bess Jo (Hannibal), Jackie (Eschol), and son Mark. She was a beloved matriarch to numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory
and legacy. Odessa was preceded in death by her parents James and Zetta Paul, her husband
John, and son Gregory Allan.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Odessa will be laid to rest alongside
her beloved husband John, at the Florida National Cemetery. Her memory will be cherished by
all who knew her, as she continues to inspire through her legacy of kindness and devotion.
