Norma Fernandez's Obituary
On June 28th, 2024, our loving mother died peacefully in her sleep at our home. She was 81 years young.
She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico along with 5 siblings. She married my father when she was 20 years old and remained married to him for 60 years. My Dad passed away on December 20, 2022..
She had 3 children, Gabriel Fernandez Jr. Gabriela Fernandez-Quinones and Rodolfo Fernandez. She had 7 grandchildren and 4 great children,
Our parents raised us in New York and they retired and moved to Puerto Rico..
The biggest thing about my Mom was, she had the biggest heart and loved everyone around her. She would never say no to anyone who needed her. She was funny, loud and loved to smoke cigars. She loved playing her salsa music loud.
My Mom was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a best friend to many who knew her and most of all she was the best grandmother our children could ask for..
When my Mom got sick, I moved her to Florida to live with me so I can care for her and see to her needs. After countless hospital stays and Dr Visits, She was diagnosed with Advanced Dementia. She stopped walking and talking after a few months and became bed bound. Medically, there was nothing that could be done to help her. I made the decision to bring her home on Hospice so I can see to her needs and take care of her in my home where she was around family.
Words could never explain how much she will be missed. I hope to live as long as she did and love her family with the passion she had for us.
Mommy rest in peace and one day we will all be together again...
Your loving Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her family.
