Neil M Goode's Obituary
Goode, Neil (Mark)Ham- age 64, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away, Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House of Lakeland, of ATTRwt Amyloidosis. Mark was a native Floridian born in Jacksonville, FL. Mark attended Dommerich Elementary School and recently attended his 6th grade class 50th Reunion, and had a blast. He also attended Maitland Junior High (now Maitland Middle School) and Winter Park High School. Mark was a baseball/football star athlete and played during his school years, and in college at UCF and later, transferred and graduated at Appalachian State University with two majors. Mark‘s hobbies were golf, gardening, dancing, traveling, volunteering as Santa and other charitable endeavors of the Sawdust Engineers in his neighborhood. Survivors: wife, Theresa Bouchey-Goode of Lakeland, FL., And daughter, Katherine (Kasia) Collins; sisters, Toni Goode of Louisiana; Terri Matz of Florida, Clara Atkinson of FL; brothers, Richard Goode III of Louisiana and John Goode of North Carolina. Pets: Rin, Daisy and Milo; grand pups: Olive, Onyx, Chi-Chi and Reynolds.
Lakeside service 11:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr., Lakeland, FL, in the Lakewood Arches section of the Lake, with the Rev. Michael McCurdy officiating.
Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Ariana Village clubhouse, 1070 Cosmos Drive, Lakeland, Florida at 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends and family at the Mercy Dinner following the ceremony, even if they were unable to attend the internment. Music to be provided by Kelly Cunningham. Please advise the family on your attendance to the Mercy Dinner for an approximate count.
We thank, especially the doctors and nurses of hospice house, Dr. Nayeem, and our family doctor, Dr. DeCordova and Tracy, his nurse; our special nurse, Julie, Barbara, Brittany, Carrie and Susan, and so many more, for their dedication and love for us. We also thank, especially Alex Adamson for his support and love of our daughter, Kasia, and sense of humor, even in dark times; Tom and Micki Higgins for UNO nights, and coffee days, meals and repairs; Terry and Karen Frasier for golf outings in his later months; our community for their gifts of time and meals and moving furniture, etc., and of course, our daughter, Kasia, for her unending support and love for her stepdad. They were inseparable. We also thank Theresa’s sister, Bertha and Harold for visiting often from Pittsburgh; Randy and Terri Matz for helping us move to Ariana; Susan Kornegay Henson and Jennifer Kornegay Smith for making Mark’s recent birthday one of absolute joy and fun. We also thank Lissette Marrero for her love and support, and Theda Burnham for her, most delicious soul meals. Special thanks to Dean Harisis of Dommerich. Many thanks to the Ariana Village Community for their support and assistance, especially Jen Castaneda, Lisa Nelson, all the ladies and their gentlemen, and the Sawdust Engineers. We are blessed to live here and know you.
