Merle L. Messer
Lakeland- Merle Louise Messer, 76, died October 28th, 2017. Mrs. Messer was born in Blair, WV on February 5th, 1941 to the late Herbert and Rhoda Crum. She lived in West Virginia and was a graduate of Sharpless High School. Following graduation her and her sister Paloma Spray moved to Indianapolis where she started working at St. Vincent Hospital. Soon she met the love of her life, the late Charles R. Messer Sr.. The couple started their family and later moved to Lakeland, Florida. She gave over 30 years of service at Lakeland Regional Hospital where she worked as an office manager in Radiology. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and going on trips to Graceland for Elvis week. She loved 50’s music, swans, ELVIS, angels, bedspreads and clean sheets!
Merle L. Messer is survived by children oldest son Jeffrey S. Messer, daughter Jean M. Messer, and son Kevin W. Messer. grandchildren Jeffrey, Amy, Jenny, Tia, Levi.; great grandchildren Ariana, Isabella, Autumn, Aamiya, Charlie, Benjamin. Preceded by son Charles R. Messer Jr., brother Wesley Crum. and grandson David Ellington.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Services 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801. Followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Ave. Bushnell, FL 33513
