Mearl B. Bruner
Lakeland – Mearl B. Bruner, 95, went to be with the Lord on Apr. 14, 2015.
Mrs. Bruner was born in Moore County, NC on Aug. 29, 1919, to the late George and Sarah Brown. She retired from the textile industry in North Carolina, and moved to the Lakeland area in 1995. She had numerous memberships, including the Eastern Star, Medulla Baptist Church, Pioneer Club of MBC, Christian Women’s Club, and former member of First Baptist Church of Siler City and the Garden Club. She read the Bible often, and enjoyed cooking and gardening, and for more than 40 years made homemade bread for others.
Mrs. Bruner was preceded in death by her first husband, James Hill, second husband, Max Sprinkle and third husband, Col. Martin Bruner. She also was preceded in death by her 7 siblings. She is survived by her son, Ron (Darlene “Dena”) Hill of Lakeland, FL; granddaughter, Kim (Richard) Avery of Dacula, GA; 2 great grandchildren; step daughter, Beverly Cooper of Siler City, NC; 2 step grandchildren; her special friends for the past 20 years, Kerney and Gloria Davis of Lakeland, FL; her caregiver for the past 2 years, Vickie; and numerous nieces and nephews in North Carolina.
Visitation will be Sat. 10-11 am at Medulla Baptist Church with services to follow at 11 am at the church. Services will be officiated by Pastor Mark Epperson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pioneer Club at Medulla Baptist Church 3930 Old Road 37, Lakeland, FL 33813. Interment will take place in Siler City, NC.
