Max Edd Scott
Lakeland – Max Edd Scott, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 24, 2019, with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren by his side.
He was born and raised in Lumber City, GA, until 1967 when he moved to Lakeland where he met and married the love of his life Carolyn. Max was a self-employed A/C technician, and after retirement worked at Winn Dixie. He was a man of faith who loved the Lord, his family, sports, and fishing at his second home on the St. Johns River. Max was a beloved Husband, Father and Papa. He was a strong, proud, and good man. He touched the hearts of many people and will be dearly missed.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Gladys Scott; son, Brian Scott; brothers, John and Charles Scott; all of Lumber City, GA. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn; daughter, Melissa Waltens; grandchildren, Mallory Gillum (Blake) and Robert Waltens; all of Lakeland, FL; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Sat. Feb. 2, 2019 at 11 am at New Beginnings Baptist Church, 404 W. Belmar St. Lakeland, FL 33803.
