Martha was an amazing person and my best friend. I've known her most of my life, and spent almost every day at her house as a child and teenager. I have so many wonderful memories. I visited her as often as I could and there were 2 memories that she just loved to talk about and brought them up every time I would visit. One was of this little toy Coca Cola truck that had little wooden crates with little bottles of coke. If she was busy she always set me up in the hall with that little truck and I would play with it for hours. She would tell me stories of all the things I would do with it and and stories I would come up with while playing with it. The other memory was our time in the pool. I would ask her to show me something and once I got the hang of it I would always say " watch me Martha watch me". I know raise butterflies and have for a long time and I would take the chrysalis to her house so she could watch it turn into a butterfly. There is a saying that if you whisper a message to a butterfly that the butterfly will take it to heaven and tell the person the message. With every butterfly I have released since Martha has left this world I have whispered I love you Martha.
