Martha Lydia Janzow Rupprecht's Obituary
Martha Lydia Janzow Rupprecht passed away on January 9, 2018.
She was born on September 5, 1925 in Winona, MN. Martha married Gerhard (Gary) Rupprecht in 1946; God blessed them with five children. After the deaths of Gary and son, David, Martha at age 42, moved to Milwaukee, WI to attend the Lay Training Institute. Then, she was called to serve at Grace Lutheran in Oak Creek, WI for 13 years. Martha was commissioned as a missionary for Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod to serve with Lutheran Bible Translators in Sierra Leone, West Africa from 1980-1982. In 1994, Martha served as a missionary for the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Moscow, Russia as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher for four years. Then, she settled in FL to be near her four daughters and their families.
The Celebration of Eternal JOY for Martha will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland. A Christian Internment will be held at Immanuel Cemetery in Lewiston, MN at a future date.
This will be the temporary resting place of her remains until the resurrection of all flesh when her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, returns with power and glory to judge the world. Until that time, we know from Scripture that Martha’s soul rejoices with her Lord in Heaven. To God be the Glory!
