Marietta "Mary" Skeens' Obituary
On June 10, 2024, Marietta “Mary” (Wall) Skeens, daughter of the late Everett Salisbury and Arline Taylor Salisbury, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 92. Mary passed away at the Good Shepherd Hospice Center in Lakeland, FL.
Mary was very passionate about serving her country (U.S. Army), and had a deep passion for reading, writing, and education. She also had a deep love for the Lord and spent many years ministering to women incarcerated in Tavares, FL. Mary is preceded in death by her first husband William R. Wall, and later 2nd husband Willie “Troy” Skeens. She is also preceded in death by her Aunt Laura, Uncle Wallace, Grandson David Harris, Jr., and Son-in-Law David Harris, Sr. She is survived by children Christine Blades of Lakeland, FL, William “Bud” Wall of Tavares, FL, Dennis Wall (Spouse - Doris) of New Mexico, Donald Wall of Tallahassee, FL, Joy Bair (Spouse - Mark) of York, PA, and Joan Bair (Spouse - Eric) of Ephrata, PA. Mary is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.
A private ceremony will be held at the Baltimore National Cemetery on July 19, 2024 with military honors. In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider donating to your local hospice center, church, or ministry in Mary’s honor as she faithfully and frequently donated to the Lord’s work.
