Marie Immacula Myrtha Manigat Francois' Obituary
Marie Immacula Myrtha Manigat Francois passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2023 at the age of 68. She was surrounded by family and friends at the Lakeland Regional Hospital when she transitioned.
She was born on June 8th, 1954 in Cap Haitian, the second largest city of Haiti and moved temporarily to Lakeland, Fl in 2021 to be closer to her immediate family.
On top of being a wonderful mother and grandmother, she was a proud businesswoman for 30 years and a fervent Catholic who devoted her whole life helping the less fortunate in her community. She was a member of two popular choirs in Haiti; the MCJ and Maranatha of Cap Haitian.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jean Brito and Antonine Francois; husband Nathan P. Manigat; siblings Roro and Babi.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie Franceline Charles Vilaire of Haiti; son Dr. J B Manigat Francois of Lakeland, FL; grandsons Jayden and Jameer Manigat Francois of Lakeland, FL; daughter-in-law Dr. Mireille Limprevil Francois of Lakeland, FL; son-in-law Ciceron Charles of Haiti; goddaughter Bethsabee Evenou of Haiti.
During this difficult time, please continue to pray for the comfort of her family and friends; godmother Rictrude Pierre of Haiti; her stepsons, stepdaughters, cousins in Cap Haitian and overseas, and all of those who mourn her passing.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810 on Friday, April 14, 2023.
A funeral Mass will be held the next day on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 210 West Lemon St, Lakeland, FL 33815, followed by a procession to Oak Hill Burial Park located at 4620 U.S. Highway 98 S. Lakeland, FL 33812 for burial.
Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served after the burial ceremony at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Homes at 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810.
