Maria "Chabela" Ramos' Obituary
Maria (Chabela) Ramos, was born on 5/12/1959 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and passed away 12/22/2022 in Lakeland.
Chabela was fighter of 63 years, a mother to 3, and a spiritual mother to many. She was a strong woman of God. She taught a lot of people to fight as she battled breast cancer for 3 years, which was very hard on her and her family. She loved to play mind building games on her phone, and always calling someone about something. She lovingly teased her family, bothering them with little things such as opening bottles of water for her, or passing her the remote that wasn’t far from her.
She showed her loved ones how to love. She impacted this world with the legacy of a warrior. There will be an empty space in our minds but not in our hearts because she left a lot of love that she showed us. She may have left in the flesh but not in the spirit. She has left to be with our father who is in heaven. From now on it will be celebrated that she is healthy and with our father. She has gone to be happy, and she will always watch and protect us. In our memories, she will stay in our hearts.
She is survived by children Yesenia Meijas, Jose D. Cruz, and Luis Cruz; grandchildren Isiah Cruz, J’dyn Cruz, Jose Canales and Charisma Cruz; and siblings Carmen and Jose. She is preceded in death by one sibling.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17th from 10-11:00 AM, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel. Burial will be at Serenity Gardens.
