Margaret Ellen Marie Vinson Lee
Lakeland - Margaret Ellen Marie Vinson Lee, 80, went home to be with her Lord on January 31, 2018. Ellen was born on March 20, 1937 in Cookeville, TN to William and Della Vinson where she was the youngest of five children. She moved to Lakeland in 1954 with her husband Joe. She was a stay at home Mom until her children entered school, where she served on the PTA Board and was active in school functions with all four children, she was busy! She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for the past 56 years where she sang in the Sanctuary Choir and was active in various positions. Her heart was working with and serving as chaperone to the youth choir, traveling with them all over the US. She was also active in her community as a member of the Junior Woman’s Club, serving on the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Red Stocking Review which raised monies for various charities in which she participated. She worked alongside her husband Joe, owner of Southern Office Equipment Company until its closing in 1992. She also worked for Dr. Don Dolan, Dr. Ted Brzozowski, Miller, Crosby and Miller, Kent Lilly and VISTE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Della Vinson, brothers Charles, Donald and Harrel Vinson and son Samuel Lee.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe Lee, Lakeland, daughters, Debbie (Ernie) Veale, Jacksonville, FL, Donna (Rick) Plank, and son Joey Lee, Lakeland. Sister Lillian Oakes, Trotwood, Ohio. Grandchildren Adam (Jamie) Veale, Emily Plank, Alex Veale, Ryan Lee, Kyle (Miranda) Lee and Hayden Lee. Great grandchildren, Graeme and Reagan Veale and Olivia Lee and Grayson Lee.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Southside Baptist Church located at 5330 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL 33813. Visitation will be Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10 am with the funeral service immediately following at 11 am. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Burial Park.
