Yes, remembering Peggy Adams (later Mrs. Richard Lewis)....my roommate at Florida Southern College in Lakeland from 1963 to 1965. We both transferred there in September, 1963, from the Junior Colleges we attended in our hometowns...hers, Manatee in Bradenton, and mine, Central Florida in Ocala. After our parents left us, we decided we needed furnishings for our room. Off we hiked over to South Florida Avenue to downtown Lakeland and then literally "lugged" our new bedding covers, rugs, etc. all the way back! Needless to say, "We were pooped"! Not long afterward we discovered a shorter way to town by going northwest through the back streets around Lake Morton and not west and then north! Oh, well! She went to her classes, and I went to mine, but usually at meal times we fellowshipped with other friends in the cafeteria. We lived in the Tri-Sigma Sorority House in an outside room of the Panhellenic Building overlooking Lake Hollingsworth. Most Sundays found us worshipping at College Heights UMC where later Peggy did an internship working with youth under the direction and guidance of Mrs. Warren Willis. In the following years I looked forward to December 1 because in our mail box would be a Christmas card with an inspirational family newsletter!. I give thanks for Peggy's friendship and thank God for the example she set for all of us. Much love and sympathy to you, Kim, Kelly and your families as you remember and grieve her homegoing. I will always remember her kindness and generosity towards everyone she met. Betty Jo (Bailey) Philips, Sparr, Florida
