Margaret Susan Collins' Obituary
Margaret Susan Collins, 78, of Lakeland FL, was called to be with the Lord on January 3, 2026. To family and friends, she was called mom, Susan or Sue. She is the daughter of the late Tom & Peggy Burke of Cleveland, Ohio, where she was born and raised.
Susan is survived by her husband, Jeffrey A. Collins of 55 years and four children: Timothy M., Jeffrey J. (Tracy), Sean C. (Elizabeth), and Michaela A. (Spence).
Sue was known as “Grandma” to seven grandchildren: Ava, Brody, Addison, Hudson, Finn, Beckham, and Brooklyn. She is also survived by two sisters: Patricia (John) Monosky and Kathy (Joe) Vandura.
Susan graduated in 1969 from Xavier College in Chicago, Illinois earning a Bachelor of Science degree and becoming a Registered Nurse. As an RN, she continued her education in Nursing and obtained her RN Certification. She worked in many fields from premature infants and research (Cleveland, Ohio), plastic surgery (Nashville, Tennessee), cardiology, and cancer research (Lakeland, Florida).
Susan dedicated her life to faith, family, and education. Her kind actions were inspiring. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church & worked part time at the Church Store.
A Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11 :00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland, followed by interment at Serenity Gardens.
