My memories of Mae Dae have been mostly through the eyes of her daughter Belinda. Mother/Daughter relationships are unique, sometimes challenging and sometimes they draw out gifts and strengths we never knew we had.
Belinda told the world that her mother mattered, that she was worth the love and care she was pouring into her - even when it wasn't Hallmark - even when it hurt - through the covid challenges - even when she thought she had no more love to give. When love is not enough - we tap into God's love - because God's love never fails.
Belinda worked at finding that smile on her mom's face - on bringing treasures to her that would let her visually see all the love she had for her momma. My dear friend fought for her mom and her right to live her last days in comfort and peace.
My prayer for the family is for peace. I pray they embrace the gift of grief - that they take the time to be held closely by the Lord - under the shelter of the Most High and receive all the Love He has for them.
Rest in peace Mae Dae, Maggie
