Orono – Louise Lewis, age 86, went to be with the Lord when she passed away on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at Dirigo Pines in Orono, Maine. Louise died peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born in Hartselle, Alabama, on November 29th, 1937, to Ollie and Nora Barnett, the fourth born out of seven children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend who loved Jesus and caring for anyone with whom she came in contact with. Louise was well known for her work ethic as a talented seamstress for over 30 years in Lakeland, Florida. She will always be remembered by her sweet smile, beautiful blue eyes, and tender voice that will live on in our memories.
Louise is survived by her son, Jimmy Wayne Lewis and his wife, Shona, her grandkids Jason and Autumn, her great grandkids Kyle, Grace, & Cooper, her niece Debbie, and many other family members and friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of almost 41 years, Jim Manard Lewis, and her daughter, Sherri. The family wishes to thank the caretakers at Dirigo Pines in Orono for the tremendous impact they made on her life in such a short time there.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Bushnell National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
