Louis C. DeMilly III's Obituary
Louis C. DeMilly III, 86, passed away in Lakeland on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Louis “Lou” was born September 3, 1938 to father Louis C. DeMilly II and mother Mariam. He was born in Fort Myers but resided in Lakeland for all of his life.
Lou was a dedicated employee of GTE for many years and was very proud of winning Technician of the Year.
He was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church for most of his life and was very involved in their bus ministry as well as a Sunday school teacher. He loved studying his Bible, his favorite verse being John 3:16-17 KJV. He was always willing to talk and provide answers to questions anyone had about God.
Lou enjoyed fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and visiting the many beautiful Springs throughout Florida. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids. He was witty and quick to share a corny dad joke or expression, such as the family favorite, “I’m off like a herd of turtles.”
Lou’s loving nature and humor will be missed and forever cherished by many, including his wife, Debbie DeMilly and children Jill Dudney, Kristy Lobianco (husband Biagio), John Moore (wife Jennifer), Lynda Rivers (husband David), Paula DeMilly (partner Joey Candullo), Angie Hudnall, and Candace Green (husband Michael). He is also survived by 16 Grandkids and 6 great-grandkids.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Lakeland on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM - 11:00 AM, followed by a service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment at Serenity Gardens to immediately follow services.
