Lloyd Eugene Tester, 76, passed away on July 13, 2024, in Lakeland, FL. Born on September 27, 1947, in Fort Wayne, IN, he was a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man.
Lloyd proudly served in the US Air Force for 25 years, dedicating his career to the intricacies of electronics in F16 jet simulators. His commitment to excellence continued post-military as he managed flight simulator maintenance at Flight Safety until his retirement.
An Elmhurst High School graduate, Lloyd furthered his education by earning an AS in Electrical Engineering. His intellect was not just confined to his professional life; he was also a creative and skilled woodworker, an avid kayaker, and an enthusiast of Nitro RC Planes, which showcased his ability to blend technical skill with leisure.
Lloyd was known for his proud, friendly, and giving nature. He was an intelligent man who loved animals and was brave in both his personal and professional life. His relationships were a testament to his loving character, survived by his wife, Carolyn; son, Steven and spouse Sharon; and daughter, Sherri Stephens and spouse Dwayne, along with grandsons Gregory and Alan, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, father, Francis, and brother, Leroy.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on July 18, 2024, at GENTRY-MORRISON Funeral Home in Lakeland, FL. The interment will follow at 11:00 AM on July 19, 2024, at Bushnell National Cemetery. GENTRY-MORRISON Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time. Lloyd's life and service will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
