Linwood Alan Parker's Obituary
Linwood “Alan “Parker, age 71, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born November 12, 1945, in Tampa, Florida, he was the son of the late Linwood Turner Parker and Elisabeth Dunn Parker.
Known as “The Man Behind The Microphone,” he was an auctioneer by trade, with over 55 years in the auction business. He was a third generation auctioneer, and was Internationally known for his expertise in auctioning horses, setting some records that still stand today. He was also a breeder, buyer, seller, and exporter of horses. He was an accomplished horseman, a real cowboy, a champion bronc rider and champion bull rider, and his passions were training horses and cattle ranching.
He was preceded in death by wives Linda Parker and Wendy West Parker. He is survived by sons Hank (Kelley) Parker and Jacob (Jessica) Parker, and longtime companion Janet Hoke; grandchildren Ian Parker and Laney Elisabeth Parker.
Funeral Services will be held at 4pm Sunday, April 2, 2017, followed by the burial, with Mike Fletcher officiating. The family will greet friends 5-8 pm Saturday April 1, and 2-4 pm Sunday April 2, 2017, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida.
