Leon was a great neighbor for over three decades. During the last couple of years, I did not see him very often - only wave from the car as I passed him with occasional short conversations.
However, back in the 80s and 90s, I would see him and his family several times each week. During the 2000s and 2010s, visits were further apart as lived, jobs, and family dynamics changed. We still chatted but probably only once a week and then once a month next decade. I remember when his electric wheel chair got stuck (temporarily) while I was replacing my water line. He drove me in his truck and helped me figure out what materials I needed for the job. Then, he supervised as I went to work. Lol. He helped me fine tune the pipes to work perfectly. I remember when I had to jump his fence twice a day to feed his animals when the original animal feeding person was unable to continue the job. I hoped everyone who saw me realized that I was helping as I went over the fence. Lol
You will be missed Leon.
