Lakeland - Lemuel L. Hays, 82, passed away at home due to heart failure on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.
Born in Camilla, GA, he moved to Lakeland in 951 and worked for many years with Lakeland Packing. He was a loving husband and father, and a devoted Christian, belonging to New Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances; a daughter, Elaine Kennedy; a son, Jeff and his wife, Terri; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at 11 am at New Home Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Family requests donations be made to the church.
