Larry Lee Hooks
Plant City – Larry Lee Hooks, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 9, 2016.
Larry was born in Soperton, GA on Oct. 18, 1940. He was raised in Bartow, FL before he moved to the Brandon area in the late 60’s. He retired from Sears as a salesman before turning his woodworking hobby into a second career. Larry also owned a palm tree farm in Dover. He was an active member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. His family, and church family, were his greatest joy.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ina Lee Hooks; and brothers, Elmer “Pee Wee” Hooks and Charles Hooks. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Hooks; sons, Ricky (Katy) Hooks, Vince (Becky) Bailey and Steven (Dawn) Bailey; sister, Nell Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Christina Hooks, Matthew (Alison) Bailey, Joshua Bailey, Makala Bailey and Noah Bailey; great-grandson, Caden Bailey.
Visitation will be Wed. from 10-11 am at Lone Oak Baptist Church, with services to follow at 11 am at the church. Interment will follow at Hopewell Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lone Oak Baptist Church – Building Fund.
