I met Lance when we worked together in Hawaii. We hit it off immediately since we were closer in age then the rest of the people we worked with. Lance had a passion for music, vehicles, and flying. Lance was one of the most laid back people I ever met. He loved his wife and children very much. When he became a grandfather you could read the pride he had in his face.
During a dark time in my life Lance took me in and helped me get past it. I'm sure his family wasn't overjoyed about it but he made sure I got through the rough patch because that's the kind of person he was.
Though I still have trouble believing this isn't a bad dream, I know that Lance lived life on his terms. Even though his time on this blue orb was far too short his was a life well lived.
