Kendall Roy Clenney's Obituary
Kendall Roy Clenney of Lakeland, Fl, passed away on April 10, 2023, from a long 7- year battle with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his spouse of 26 years, Judy Wuellner Clenney, step-daughter Natalie Cleaver Mahiques, (Courtney) of Lakeland, FL; sisters Betty Clenney Jernigan of Dothan, Alabama, Sara Clenney Register of Chesapeake, Virginia, Mary Clenney Salins, of Avondale Estates, Georgia, his brother Ray Clenney and wife Delia, of Montgomery, Alabama; Granddaughters Savannah & Madalynn Mahiques.
He was preceded in death by his parents Claude Augustus Clenney and Bessie Steele Clenney, also his sister, Shirley Clenney Story.
Kendall was born in Eufaula, AL in 1954, and moved to Lake Wales, Fl in 1976 to begin his career with Liberty National Life. He moved to Lakeland in 1983 and had a very successful career with them for 32 years. But the most rewarding thing to him, was when he was offering a policy to a customer, he was more concerned with their relationship with Jesus, than the actual sale. I believe life insurance was his calling, to help share Christ with others, in a calm, gentle, loving manner. He was a long-time member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors), being very involved with the local, state, and national chapters.
He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church for 30+ years and served them in many different ways, on several committees, and as a dedicated Yokefellow. He traveled to many countries on Mission Trips, gladly using his calling to reach out to others for Christ. He was truly a humble servant.
A visitation will be Friday, April 21st at Gentry-Morrison at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland from 6PM-8PM for coworkers and friends. Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 22 at Crestview Baptist Church at 11am, 615 Old Polk City Road, Lakeland, with a meal following the service, then a procession to the graveside service following at Serenity Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to Good Shepherd Hospice, the Lakeland Chapter.
