LAKELAND - Mrs. Joyce Schaak passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday April 12, 2014, at the Pepin Heart Institute, Tampa, after a long and brave battle with pulmonary arterial hypertension and COPD. Born in Virginia Beach, VA, she moved to Lakeland in 1976 after her husband's retirement from the Marine Corps. She was devoted to her family and proud to be the wife of a U.S. Marine. Joyce is survived by her husband, Herb; son, Michael Sally Moore of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters, Sharon Moore of St. Petersburg, FL, Donna Eugene Watkins of Crawfordville, FL, Angie Andy Resmondo of Lakeland; grandchildren, Allyson, Brad, Viviana, Elizabeth, Alex; great grandchildren, Larrna & Madalyn.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, 10 - 11am at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Funeral services begin at 11am in the funeral home chapel.
