Joseph Arnold Godwin, 87

North Fort Meyers – J. Arnold Godwin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
Arnold, the youngest of 9, was born on September 12, 1929 to Joseph Franklin and Pearl Godwin in Avon Park, FL. Arnold loved to sing. He sang in a variety of groups, including the Sunny South Quartet, Lee College’s Continental Quartet and the Kingsmen Quartet. In 1960, he accepted the call to pastor Eastland Temple Church of God in Orlando, where he served for 22 years. He then served eight years as a director of evangelism and home missions in FL. After Arnold’s wife passed in 1985 he became pastor of the Plant City Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelba and 8 siblings. Arnold is survived by his daughters, Lori Robertson of Naples and Kara Godwin-Causseaux of St. Pete. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Village Church of God, 6 Coleman Rd, Winter Haven, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon. Burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Park, Winter Haven. Arrangements by Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home.
