John Oliver Stewart Jr.'s Obituary
LAKELAND - -John O. Stewart, 94, peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, from complications due to a fall.
Born Sept. 5, 1920, he moved to the Lakeland area as a child where he enjoyed playing baseball with the city of Lakeland until 1940. After returning from WWII serving as a Seebee for 4 years, he received his diploma from Lakeland High School and made his career with Publix Supermarkets. Because of his love and devotion to Jesus Christ, his morale, servitude, kindness and love are the qualities we were all blessed to witness.
John is survived by his wife of 32 years Edith, daughter Carol Butler, son Ronald Stewart, step daughters Angie Holm (David), Debra Walker (Warren), step son Kenneth Wells (Oma), grandchildren Kim Rea, Christi Grimm, Kevin Stewart, Jessica Steffes, John Butler, Aaron Walker, Tricia Clark and many great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, at 10:30 AM at Parkview Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkview Baptist Church.
